Friends of the Animals at Cedar Creek Lake is a 501[c][3] non-profit organization running the Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic in Gun Barrel City. This clinic is open to anyone anywhere and does surgery every Tuesday by appointment only, at

Our Director
Sydney Busch, Clinic DirectorSydney Busch was a volunteer for 18 years at the SPCA of Texas in Dallas and served on their board. She and her husband Ed (who also served on the SPCA board as President for two terms) saw the need when they moved to Cedar Creek Lake full time and worked to raise funds and recruit volunteers. On July 30 of 2002, they opened Friends of the Animals Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic along with Sandy Ward

Glen Campbell DVM
Dr. Glen Campbell is a graduate of Texas A&M and LSU Veterinary School.
He was named by D Magazine as one of the 'Best Vets In Dallas'...immediately after Hurricane Katrina, he volunteered for 5 days in New Orleans doing rescue and emergency surgeries...HE IS THE HEART AND SOUL OF OUR WHOLE ORGANIZATION.
Our non surgical Veterinarian
Robert Garcia DVMDr. Robert Garcia is a graduate of Texas A&M Veterinary School and runs a large animal mobile practice. Since June of 2015, he has overseen the non-surgical services the clinic provides every Tuesday from 10-2 and on the Second Saturday of each month from 10-noon.

Holly Press - Veterinary TechnicianJoy Simmons - a tireless, energetic administrator since the clinic opened, she checks in the animals in the morning and enters all the data in the computer.
Debbie Starr - Schedules appointments all week
More than two dozen volunteers are regulars who work at the clinic each Tuesday doing everything from weighing animals and taking their temperatures to giving vaccinations, and preparing surgery packs. Volunteers also walk the dogs, clean the cages, do laundry, gather supplies, and organize administrative aspects of the clinic.

The lake is made up of many communities and we are actually located in Gun Barrel City at the southeast corner of Hwy 198 and 334.
